Jon Dodd has been exclusively repairing flutes for over 35 years, first in London notably at the flute shop Top Wind and then in the Republic of Ireland. Jon has extensive experience working on the full range of flutes from student to professional models. A number of his customers are Pro players in the classical and traditional worlds. He played flute and piccolo in the Regimental Band of the Scots Guards in London for six years. He then went to Merton College, South London where he studied Musical Instrument Repair full time, for 2 years. Whilst building up his experience as a specialist flute repairer, he also taught flute in a number of schools He has now set up a workshop in Corsham, Wiltshire within easy reach of Bath, Bristol, Swindon and Cardiff.
Service: clean oil and adjust Student flutes from £80. Mid-Price flutes from £90. Professional flutes from £120 If a pad needs replacing during a service, the cost is £10 each or £20 for high tech ones.
Overhaul: de-pin mech, hand polish keys and body, replace pads and felts Students flutes from £250 Mid-Price flutes from £350 Professional flutes from £450
The overhaul price includes best quality felt and skin pads. High tech pads for mid-price and professional flutes will cost an addition of £150. There will be additional costs for damage or missing parts.The total cost will be agreed once I have inspected the flute.

How to visit my workshop or send your flute: You can send your flute by a variety of methods depending on the value and your insurance. The sender is responsible for the insurance of their flute while in transit to and from my workshop. If you are visiting my workshop, please call me first on 07395 381049. Parking: There is no convenient parking in my road as it is cul-de-sac. Parking can be found on Pickwick Road or a number of pay and display bays around the town, all within 5 mins walk of my workshop.
